The Foundation will achieve its mission by hosting fundraising efforts primarily to offer monetary support of associations and individuals. The Foundation exists to grow the pool of hockey talent and level of competition in the state of Alaska so more young hockey players can achieve their highest potential.

For anyone who loves hockey, Guns-n-Hoses is the opportunity for something exciting and unique. It’s not every day that citizens have the chance to cheer for the men and women who keep us safe, or to root for their favorite heroes while supporting a charitable cause. The police and firemen give new meaning to home team, and spectators will be cheering for both sides, equally appreciative of the hard work of both our law enforcement and fire suppressant civil servants. The Scotty Gomez Foundation is proud to be the beneficiary of this annual event.

Foundation Annual Golf Tournament

The fifth annual Scotty Gomez Celebrity Golf Tournament was held on July 21, 2011 at Eagleglen at JBER. JJ Johnson, formerly of the Alaska Aces, was on hand. JJ inked a deal with the L.A. Kings yesterday just one day before attending our tournament.

The Scotty Gomez Foundation has sponsored over 70 boys and girls (fees and gear) for the 2010 hockey season through the Boys & Girls Club of Alaska. Scotty Gomez Foundation also donated over $15,000 to various hockey organizations and players throughout the state. The Scotty Gomez Foundation is dedicated to providing opportunities and assistance for youth hockey in Alaska.

Our charity fundraising events are what make giving to organizations like the Boys and Girls club possible. We're already planning and looking forward to our next golf tourney in 2012!

Annual Poker Tournament Charity Event

The Scotty Gomez Foundation was proud to present this years Professional Poker Seminar and free No Limit Texas Hold 'Em tournament with special guest instructor Perry Green. Our guests learned poker strategy from Alaska's best known player, considered by many as simply, "The Godfather of Alaskan Poker". After the seminar we enjoyed a dinner buffet hosted by Gallo's with tournament following. We also gave away many fantastic prizes throughout the evening and the final table won a featured $10,000 seat to the WSOP's main event, a $1,500 WSOP event seat, an Alaska Aces Party Package for 20 people, 2012 Fur Rondy Tournament of Champions sponsorship, Home and Away autographed Gomez Montreal Canadians jerseys and more!
